Orlando,
Florida is home to Walt Disney World, Sea World and other
famous theme parks. What most don't know is that its also
famous for its "World
Class Flats Fishing". Located just 40 minutes east
of Orlando anglers arrive on Florida's Space Coast to test
their skills with light
tackle fishing for redfish,
trout, snook,
tarpon, and
black
drum. The Mosquito
Lagoon and
Indian River Lagoon are one of the top Orlando
Fishing Destinations for anglers from around the world.
Unlike
any other destination in the world where anglers fish the
shallow flat's, the Mosquito
Lagoon serves as home base for redfish,
trout, and
black drum
all year long. They never leave the Mosquito Lagoon
and head offshore for the migration and spawning.
Several tagging studies have shown that the redfish inside
Mosquito Lagoon spend their entire life span within four
miles of their birthplace. This means anglers
have year round fishing on the flat's. While on your trip
you will fish shallow water through out the day in search
of tailing or schooling fish.
Mosquito
Lagoon redfish are known for their mean fight, and long
runs over the grass flats when hooked. Schools of 50 to
500 redfish are not uncommon with fish over 40 pounds. Anglers
will also find some of the largest
sea trout in the state with fish over ten pounds landed
each month. Black
drum are also found schooling inside the Mosquito Lagoon.
The same as it's cousin the redfish they will school through
out the year inside of the Lagoons on the shallow flat's.
The
Indian River Lagoon is lots of action and has many different
species ranging in size from 2 to 40 pounds! This fishing
by nature is less technical than flats fishing and allows
the angler to fish in the beautiful, calm waters surrounding
the flats and mangrove channels. The key words here are calm
water. This is similar to fishing on a lake back home with
very little chance of rough water. These trips routinely produce
great fishing for snook,
redfish,
sea trout, and small tarpon,
to name a few.
If you have ever dreamed of casting to a school of tailing
redfish, or throwing a top water lure at snook in the magroves
on the shallow flats, the Mosquito Lagoon &
Indian River Lagoon will not disappoint you. We
offer two Central
Florida Fishing Guides
through this web site and they both cater to all skill
levels and ages. Both Captain Kevin Fischer and Captain
Shawn Williams are U.S.C.G licensed, fully
insured, and professional individuals that share a deep
passion for the sport. Kids are always welcome.
Both
Captains are local to the area and guide full time year
round. They charge
by the angler, not the boat. So if you have more than
two anglers looking to fish, you get two boats for the price
that other Orlando Guide Services charge for one boat. We
see no reason to cram a group of people into just one boat.
This way all of the anglers fishing will have the best chance
at landing that trophy fish of a lifetime. We can handle
trips for the single angler, up to four anglers.
